Jason Kertson The Voice, Is ALSO Jason Kertson the Guitarist

Jason Kertson is a 17 year-old (at the time of this writing), singer/guitarist from the Seattle/Tacoma area. You might have heard him on the hit TV show The Voice. Here he talks about that experience on New Day Northwest (a local Seattle morning show). Here he sings with 15 year-old Electra Mustaine (the daughter of Dave Mustaine, of noted metal band Megadeath), doing a duet version of Megadeath’s “A Tout le Monde” to promote a benefit concert for wounded U.S. service men and women. So Jason is obviously a great singer, but he’s also a great guitar player.

For example, in the video below he plays two guitars at once to do a cool version of Drifting by the incredible acoustic guitarist, Andy McKee.

He comes from a musical family, as he’s the grandson of Rob Lind. Rob was a member of The Sonics, the seminal Seattle-area band that helped shape the roots of the early Seattle punk/garage sound of the 60’s.

These days Jason is writing, working on some recordings with noted Seattle producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, etc.), and playing with his band Jason Kertson and the Immortals. You can catch Jason’s YouTube channel here. He’s definitely a young talent to watch.
